| Customer Reviews: Just ok February 25, 2010 Mac Convert (Colorado, USA) Just an ok book, talks more about generic items than specific ones. Has a few topics which apply to California, but others are universal. Perhaps something I would browse through but not worth purchasing for long term. Check your local library for a copy and skim through it.
Life Saver! November 22, 2009 Laine (CA, USA) This book is worth it's weight in gold! I just protected myself from a bunch of creeps who tried to swindle me into buying a house full of Toxic Mold!
No one in real estate looks out for the buyer. They want your money. Use this book!
2006 version was much more thorough - this book is a top level overview September 26, 2009 Caroline Tikhoniouk (CA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book does not delve into anything. It gives you the most basic basic basic top level newbie information. If you have a real question about any issue, you will not find an answer in this book. It has zero substance. The 2006 version was three times larger and had much more specific information. I "upgraded" to this version specifically because of the mortgage crisis. Our parents gave us money from Russia and we wanted to research the new rules about gifts since the real estate rules and documentation requirements have changed radically since 2006. This book says it has been republished specifically to help you navigate the new lending structure. B.S. This book will not help you at all. Order the 2006 one if anything.
